Launched by the firm of Myers & Andrews and headquartered on Otis St in Boston - Widow Jones was high end clothing line for Men & Boys at the end of the 1800s/early 1900s and enjoyed a national reputation for excellence & quality.

This design was originally utilized on the masthead of company correspondence and is surprisingly modern for the era. The Widow Jones character was extended to “action” illustrations from sailing a boat to driving the newly introduced automobile in their yearly clothing catalogs.
