The galvanized red metal buckets are designed to pay homage to F.M.Hoyt and his incredible (and successful) peanut business just upstream from our shop in neighboring Amesbury.
His peanut butter was sold in a variety of red metal pails and buckets (from a pint to 10lbs!) and we wished to provide a useful, colorful re-interpretation of this famous legacy design.
Easy to clean, rust resistant and built for coastal living - these pails are fantastic for both entertaining (drinks on ice), display or even the beach.
- Steel pail with wood handle
- 9 Quart Capacity
- 10" W at top, 7" H and 7 7/8" at base
A few words about Hoyt's Peanut Butter Company, (1902 - 1959)
Frank M. Hoyt ground his first bag of peanuts into peanut butter in 1902 in a hand mill, During his visit to the World's Fair in Buffalo NY, he decided to name his brand "Buffalo"
He decided to sell his peanut goodness via wholesale business and branched out into several varieties of peanuts and candy. By 1923, he was sold across the US and in 8 counties overseas and his Butta-Kiss candy was one of the most popular in the country through the 1920s
