Birch Ale Bowl with hand carved "heart flower" motif

This hand-turned wood bowl is crafted by Newburyport craftsman Eric Goodson. Deeply committed to the traditions of green wood turning, quality, and antique finishes - we especially love his utilization of richly colored, New England style milk-paints & ancient Urushi lacquer. 

His carved accents add wonderful complementary, balanced textures and make each wood piece strikingly unique for one's table or as a gift. I like to call these utilitarian art works that adeptly combine form, color, & function.

A truly special piece. This lovely little white birch bowl is extensively carved and painted. A hand-carved "heart flower" motif wraps around the belly of the bowl, and the inside and outside are painted with food-safe milk paint: plum on the inside and dragonfly and parchment on the outside.

These bowls are exceedingly time-consuming to create and as such, very limited in their availability. Appx 6 3/8" x 2 3/8"
