Founded in 1961 by Frank Giuffrida, a butcher from Lawrence MA, it was one of the busiest restaurants in the United States from the 1970s to 1990s. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDesigned in 1966 by electric sign company Mack Advertising. A hole eight feet deep, 28 feet long, and 15 feet wide was blasted for the base of the sign.
