The "Jetty" was a completely independent steam engine that made runs to Plum Island and was fashioned to look like a pullman car. With rail ties upon the sand and sailboats beyond - this incredible image reflects the early recreation era on the island.
This beautiful giclee print is made with stunning Hahnemühle fine art paper to reflect the sharpness, texture & tones of a vintage contact print from the late 1800s & early 1900s. We included a 2" surrounding boarder to magnify the period presentation.
Dimensions are 18" L x 12" H and mounted to thin foam core backing board that is perfect to support multiple display options from placing on a ledge or shelf to full framing.
*Stand shown IS NOT included*
About the NESB Negative Collection
We are passionately committed to preserving, and sharing, New England's amazing images and historic narratives. This commitment has been an active passion for decades and spans across all manner of regional artifacts. One area of this focus has been the preservation, cleaning (carefully) and digitization of historic glass negatives that are now being made into stunning prints that are exclusive to our shop.
In many ways we saw these wonderful and cultural captures as photographic orphans - disconnected from their original printed creation- often boxed in stacks and thrust into an inglorious attic or barn archive. The thrill is finding unique, interesting compositions that reflect the subtle, point in time activity, now lost or forgotten, of a bygone era.
About Our Giclee Archival Prints:
A Giclee print is a high-quality fine art print that is produced using a specialized inkjet printer.
Giclee prints are known for their exceptional color accuracy and detail, as well as their longevity. The ink used in giclee printing is archival, meaning it is designed to resist fading and yellowing over time, and the printing process itself allows for a wide color gamut and fine detail reproduction.
Giclee prints are often used to reproduce artwork, photography, and other types of fine art prints, and are typically printed on high-quality paper or canvas. Because of their high quality and longevity, giclee prints are often considered to be fine art in their own right and are prized by collectors and artists alike.
